Humility and Pride

 In a nutshell..... 

Time and time again Jesus reminds us that humility is the way to the Father's heart. To be as little children, not puffed up with scriptural knowledge and academic achievements, accolades or thousands of YouTube subscribers. We are to think very little of ourselves, empty ourselves of our own 'stuff' in order to be filled with the Graces God longs to give us, to be more like His son. Meditate on the humility of Mary, who 'pondered these things in her heart' rather than shouting from the rooftops her son was the long awaited Messiah. 

Conversely, no one can really measure or understand the damage done by possessing a proud spirit, it is all-pervading in this self-seeking world and is responsible for a great many of the world's ills. In the time of Tribulation many will put themselves forward as leaders. Be careful! Test the spirit and look toward those that underplay their talents and skills rather than those who claim to know everything. 

Jesus says:

Those who are legalistic, demanding and critical of others needs to learn compassion and humility. And so I allow a degrading habit to bring them to their senses so they will cease judging others. I did not give birth to these things but I see the demons getting ready to jump on a soul and if they have been harsh and critical of others, I do not come to their rescue. The more you downgrade others the more you can expect to fall. I protect those who humble themselves before me. If you're prancing around proudly with all the answers, you are bound for destruction. If you humble yourself before me, I will most certainly be with you. Even if you are in a long-standing habit of pride and arrogance, and are aware of your sin and want to be delivered, I will work with you.
